Welcome to the 3rd edition of our blog anniversary. It sounds a bit crazy to be celebrating three years of Breathe With Us but it’s happening, we’ve managed to stick around for yet another year. So, let’s do a quick review of what happened and our plans for the future.
We feel this has been a slowish year for us in terms of putting content out there. While blogging is rewarding, it is also quite frustrating and requires an incredible amount of work. You probably wouldn’t believe how much effort it actually takes to run this blog. Anyway, because this is our personal project and travel is one of our passions we’re persevering and overcoming some less productive phases.
On the bright side, readership is slowly increasing, we have some very popular articles, and receive many messages of incentive from readers that find our content helpful.
So, thank you! We have lots of things to write and show about our trips. We’ve had some incredible trips that still are not featured on the blog – we promise to change that soon!
Just a quick note, our travel planning service is doing very well and we’ve helped many travelers to plan their perfect trips to some of our favorite destinations, with Iceland, Cuba, and Portugal topping the list.
Previous blog anniversaries:
Blog future
Last year we mentioned we were pleased with how the blog was doing and this year is no different. The blog is still growing, slowly but surely, despite the fact we didn’t invest as much time as we wanted to.
This being said, our priorities for another year of Breathe With Us are:
- Work more on our photography and profit from it
- Get back into video since it’s been a few months since we last published
- Keep on helping people to plan their trips via our travel planning service
- Try to catch up on the many months of contents we’ve yet to write about
Let’s now dig into the details.
Articles
Over the course of the last year, we published 31 articles, which is pretty much the same as before. While we wanted to do a lot more and publish more often, we’re glad we’re at least not doing less. Our busy day-to-day schedule has been hindering us from achieving more but we find this a good enough balance between blog, travel, and life.
These were the most popular articles:
- Iceland road trip: the ultimate guide
- 3 days in Yosemite in the Summer
- All about driving in Cuba
- The highlights of Havana: what you shouldn’t miss
- Best views in Copenhagen
- 15 Portugal highlights from travel bloggers

Photos
Photography is one of our top priorities and we invest a good amount of hours every week to improve our skills and showcase some of our best work. It was only natural that our gallery followed the trend by growing a lot this year are we’re continuously adding more photos to it. Check it out!
Here are a few highlights of our travel adventures from our Instagram account. Don’t forget to follow us.
Videos
This year we released a few more videos than the year before but still far from where we wanted to be in terms of producing content on a regular basis. We have loads of footage from our many trips, we just need the time to produce them a little bit before releasing.
We’ll leave you with two our favorite videos of the year, the first from Plitvice Lakes in Croatia and the second about the best temples to visit in Egypt.
You can find more of our videos on our YouTube page.
Travel updates
We got back from an amazing trip to East Africa, with stops in Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. This was a dream come true for us and it definitely increased our will to travel to Africa again soon.
Until the end of the year, we have a few things lined up.
The first is an in-depth trip to the Caucasus, more specifically Georgia and Armenia, two countries that are off the tourist trail yet have a lot of interesting things to offer, including both historical and natural places.
After that, Hugo will head to Cuba for another road trip with some friends. The goal is to revisit some places but also to visit a few we left behind last time.
France and Portugal are always on the menu and we plan to travel there to visit family and friends.
Thank you for visiting our blog and reading about our adventures for another year. We hope to see you on our blog again in the near future.
If you have a moment, write down your feedback in the comment section below. Tell us what you like and dislike about our blog.
Cheers,
Hugo & Cristina
