Explore the Elements photo blogging competition by Thomas Cook is a challenge for all the bloggers out there about capturing and expressing the four elements through travel photography. The elements are earth, water, fire and air. We were challenged by our friends at Wanderers but not lost to submit our photos and that’s what we did.
Let’s have a look at our choices.
Earth
The raw volcanic landscapes of Landmannalaugar in the Icelandic Highlands. It can’t get more earth than this. This category represents the hard, solid objects of the earth. Associated with stubbornness, collectiveness, physicality and gravity.
Water
The power of waterfalls and its plunging water, here seen in Dettifoss, Iceland. Represents the fluid, flowing, formless things in the world. Associated with emotion, defensiveness, adaptability, flexibility, suppleness, and magnetism.
Fire
The sky is on fire in Death Valley, California. When we thought about a photo for this category, this one immediately came to our minds. Represents the energetic, forceful, moving things in the world. Associated with security, motivation, desire, intention, and an outgoing spirit.
Air
Icebergs and birds. The two together are marvellous to watch and their movements made us pick this photo. Represents things that grow, expand, and enjoy freedom of movement. Associated with will, elusiveness, evasiveness, benevolence, compassion, and wisdom.
The competition is about to get to an end, but there are still a few days left, so in the spirit of the challenge we nominate a few other travel bloggers:
The simple rules:
1. Publish a post on your blog with the elements
2. Nominate fellow bloggers
3. Notify Thomas Cook
