Blogs we read: New Zealand edition

New Zealand ranks really high on our all-time favourite destinations and we would go back right now if we had the chance. Since we don’t, for now at least, we follow some blogs from and about the land of the long white cloud. Mainly to relive the things we did and places we visited while on the other side of the world, but also to get new ideas for our next time around.

Here’s our selection.

Young Adventuress

Liz is a veteran blogger and one of the first we started following. She’s recently been considered the future of New Zealand’s tourism by Stuff, how cool is that? We obviously got to her blog due to all the great content about New Zealand she has written. Despite the fact that she’s not a Kiwi, living in Wanaka and providing many insights of a life of adventure and discovery in New Zealand makes her count as one. We highly appreciate her very own original, honest and fun writing tone. Speaking of fun, one of our favourite articles is Me Talk Kiwi One Day – a good dose of it.

Stoked for Saturday

Jordan and Jenna are a Canadian expat couple living in New Zealand. They write almost exclusively about New Zealand and their adventures, including moving there, the great walks or living in Wellington (it really is the cutest little capital in the world). One of the things that caught our attention at first was the awesome videos they produced as a companion to their travels. Plus, their recent adventure through New Zealand with Devin Super Tramp was quite epic! We enjoyed the “backstage” coverage they provided and naturally the high-quality videos! Our pick is their video with the best of New Zealand’s great walks.

The Global Couple

Petra and Shaun are a New Zealand couple that recently returned from North America, after being based there for almost a year, and now are going to travel around their own territory for a while. They recently got into our radar and now we’re always looking forward to finding out all about their adventures and tips, since we loved our road trip in New Zealand and we never get tired of getting new ideas for future ones. Here are some to explore in the Northland.

Department of Conservation

We’ve expressed our feelings before but here we go again, we love New Zealand’s DOC! They are in charge of everything related to nature and conservation in the country, and their work is no short of amazing. This includes a lot of things, like maintaining all the tracks and huts we love for hiking, or working with endemic and endangered species. The best part? They share some of their work with the world, with insights on current activities, behind the scenes with their workers, and more! A  good example, protecting kārearea.
